- The village of Yaylu
The village of Yaylyu (translated from Altai as summer pasture or summer camp) is located on the right bank of Lake Teletskoye in the valley of a small river Chechenek. The village was founded in 1812. Most of the reserve's employees and their families live here.
Yaylyu is the only village in Russia that is located on the territory of the reserve.
In the mid-thirties, the administration of the reserve invited Dmitry Stepanovich Rachkin, who had sufficient gardening experience, to the position of a gardener. Prior to that, he lived and worked for I.V. Michurin in Kozlov for several years. In 1936, Rachkin was sent to Michurinsk, from where he brought seedlings and laid a garden on the upper terrace above the village of Yaylyu.
There are also several ecological and educational routes of the reserve, the Altai Village ecological and educational visitor center, the Zazerkalye dive station and the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
