Getting to know the Tubalars
Tubalars are an indigenous small—numbered Turkic-speaking people living in the northern part of the Altai Republic. Tubalars live along the Biya River and along the shores of Lake Teletskoye. Not far from Kebezen village there is an open-air ethno—museum "Ortosh". These are several villages — traditional dwellings in the form of chopped yurts on the banks of the Biya River. Authentic items and household utensils are collected in the villages, and the way of life of the Altaians of the early twentieth century has been reconstructed. First, you will walk along the "Shaman's Path", listen to local legends, hear good wishes — "alkyshi", learn the rite of tying ribbons — "dyalama". You will have a lunch of traditional dishes, including fried grain porridge - talkan. A local resident, Baba Pana, will conduct rituals, talk about beliefs and how the locals lived in the recent past.
